WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?
Sessions last 1 hour and we have a coach for the full hour. We spend around 40 minutes going through drills and exercise to improve our basic ball skills and then we have 20 minutes to play a match at the end.
DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO EVERY WEEK?
Nope! We know it can be tricky to commit to a weekly session, and you might not fancy playing each week, so we're more of a 'drop-in' team. We have people who show up each week and people who show up once in a while. Completely up to you, you'll always be welcome.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
First sessions are free, so that you can get a taster for us. After that it's £3 per session and you tap to pay on the day.
This money goes towards the coaches so that we can learn how to play and see the improvements, equipment for training, kits (coming soon!), training coaches and to cover football club costs.
We know subs can be a barrier to joining though and have support from St Martin's Coffee Shop to cover some costs, so still get in touch if you would like to come along and we can work out individual cases.
HOW MANY QUEENS ARE THERE?
Operating a 'drop-in' training session means numbers change each week, but we normally have around 14 people show up each week and there's always new faces.
WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?
You can find us at Goals Leicester (Wakerley Road, Leicester LE5 4WJ) when the evening are darker (September - April). In the Summer we'll return to Victoria Park.
WHAT DAY AND TIME IS TRAINING?
Every Tuesday evening, 7pm to 8pm for anyone who has played some football. For those with zero experience, or returning after a break, we have a beginners session 6pm to 7pm.
